- Mr. Timke, what would be your response to an inquiry by the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence for the purchase of Eurofighter aircraft?
- Numerous experts from EADS, consisting of technical and operational specialists, experts in commercial offset and financial professionals formed an integrated team that is entirely focused on the preparation of a solid and affordable solution for the Bulgarian Air Force. The answer will be divided into two parts. The first will relate to the proposal and details of the acquisition of the brand new Eurofighter (the most advanced Tranche 3 version). Installation of these Eurofighter tranche 3 will begin in 2014 so that the first planes will arrive at airbase Graf Ignatievo just in time to be ready to fulfill the mission of the Bulgarian Air Force. This tranche 3 is absolutely identical to the Tranche 3, which the German Luftwaffe will receive in 2015. The second part of the proposal will outline the details of Transh a Eurofighter, which has been in operation since 2004, and in five vaorazheniie Air Force in Europe. If the Bulgarian defense budget does not allow the purchase of a new tranche 3 Eurofighter, EADS will get the required number of Tranche 1 aircraft used by one of the 5 countries in Europe for delivery in Bulgaria. - Will you participate in the Eighth International Aviation Festival in Plovdiv, dedicated to 100 anniversary of the Bulgarian aviation?
