Russia will deploy in the Kuril Islands mobile coastal missile system "Bastion", equipped with supersonic anti-ship cruise missiles Yakhont, Interfax reported, citing a source in Russia's General Staff. It will be used to protect the coast Kuriles. The exact number of complexes, scheduled for delivery in the Kuril Islands, not specified.
"Bastion" is intended to cover the coastline length of 600 kilometers. The complex can be used to defeat surface ships of various types, as well as radio-goals under intense fire and electronic countermeasures.

The structure consists of a complex missile in transport-launch container, self-propelled launchers, machine command and control, transport and loading vehicle, car security alert, and helicopter target acquisition range.
